When installing stamped concrete, there are two color
selections to be made. First, we have the
INTEGRAL COLOR
(or Concrete Colors), which is mixed in the concrete to
make your base color. Then, we have the
RELEASE COLOR,
which is applied as a powder layer on the surface prior
to the actual stamping of the concrete. As we
stamp or imprint the concrete, the release color works
its way into the joints and deeper grooves. This
creates the two-tone color effect of antique brick or
slate. In the following days, the excess release
powder is washed off and then the concrete is sealed to
protect the color. If left unsealed, the sun and
weather may lighten the color significantly.
